Growing up all over rural western Canada Richard watched his mother work as a photographer, capturing images of wildlife. Through this he developed a passion for imagery and the natural world at a young age. Originally convinced that he would become a field biologist working in the hot and humid jungle or deep within the ocean, Richard ended up with the overwhelming urge to work in the arts.
Over the past 5 years Richard has developed the technical and logistical knowledge of film production and developed a passion for cinematography.
While working in multiple departments on set as well as a technician at Panavision, Richard has focused his time and energy into cinematography.
He seeks out stories of empathy, artistic expression, and the natural world through analogue and digital mediums. All while living, working, and hiking in British Columbia.
